The Cordillera is a mountainous, geographically wide area in Nortern Luzon, Philippines, with up to 2900 meter elevations. It contains the remote provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Baguio City. Its most well known feature are the stone walled Rice Terraces in and around Banaue, hand built over 2000 years and now an Unesco Heritage Listing, as well as the hanging burial coffins and caves of Sagada.

Numerous indigenous tribes – collectively named the “Igorot” – call the Cordillera home. They speak various dialects and have a fascinating history and culture – witness the history of head hunting in Bontoc, access small communities such as Batad or Bataan by mountain trekking with a local guide, swim in the Tapiya waterfall, 4×4 drive up the spectacular mountain road that connects Banaue to Sagada. Or experience huge chamber caves, view the Hanging Coffins in Sagada and much, much more!!
