Route Summary : Cauayan– Hapao –Banaue-(optional extra day Sagada) Banaue – Batad Village-Mayoyao- Cauayan (or the other way around)
This tour offers an excellent opportunity to experience the Famous Rice Terraces even if you’re short on time. These stunning 2,000-year-old terraces, intricately carved into the mountains of Ifugao by the indigenous ancestors, are not to be missed.
On the first day, we’ll pick you up from Cauayan airport and embark on a 4-5 hours drive to Native Village Inn in Hapao, where lunch awaits. Following lunch, we’ll embark on a leisurely 3-hour walk through the Hapao rice terraces, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will provide insights into local life and rice cultivation. At the end of the tour, you have the option to relax in the hot spring and/or river before returning to Banaue for your overnight stay.
The next day, after a 1-hour drive to the Batad drop-off point, it’s a brief 20-minute trek to the Batad viewpoint. From here, you can opt for a gentle 1-hour trail or a more challenging 2-hour trek to explore the village, with an additional 1.5 -hour journey to Tappiya Water Falls for the adventurous (note: this part is quite strenuous). A local guide from Batad will accompany you, ensuring an enriching experience. Lunch will be served at the Batad viewpoint before heading off on a 1-hour drive to Mayoyao.
In Mayoyao, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely 1-2 hour walk (time permitting). The fitter you are, the more we can explore. You’ll walk through the village and rice terraces, experiencing the unique traditions and language of the Ifugao people. By 4 PM, we’ll leave Mayoyao for a 2.5-hour drive back to Cauayan for your overnight stay.
Please note that this itinerary including Hapao only can be followed if arrives at Cauayan Airport at around 8-9 am. If the flight is not early we cannot do the trekking in Hapao or when you stay overnight in Cauayan the day before. On that day we can visit Luis Hacienda, mushroom center, the Church in Cauayan and or coffee plantations.

Itinerary
Day 1: Cauayan Airport-Banaue (viewpoint) – Hapao Rice Terraces Trek.
Defending on ETA (airfare pax account). Our Driver/guide will pick you up at Cauayan for a 4 hours drive to a small town in Banaue .
Overnight Stay in Banaue.
Day 2: Banaue – Batad rice terraces tour – Bangaan vie point – Mayoyao Tour – Cauayan
07:00 am – Pick up at your hotel, drive 1 hour to the village of Batad (saddle drop off) trek for 20 minutes to Batad Viewpoint (2 hours). At Batad viewpoint you will witness the amphitheater-shaped terraces located at 3,600 ft then back to Batad viewpoint. You might want to bring some snacks as it’s an early start and late lunch on this day.
Batad to Mayoyao is 1:00 hours along a very scenic road with deep cliffs along the side when approaching our destination. Underway there are few scenic lookouts points like Bangaan rice terraces, snake river, Duclican rice terraces and viewpoint looking out over the Mayoyao town and rice terraces.
03:00 pm – Leaving Mayoyao, its a 2.5 hours to Cauayan. The hotel that we used near Cauayan is The Maximillian Hotel and they will provide the transfer to the airport to the next day which is 2 minutes drive away.
Flight to Manila varies.
(*) Provided you have a very good level of physical fitness (the hike is up and down) and should you wish to trek for two-three further demanding hours we can offer you from Batad viewpoint:
a) the Tappiya waterfall 2 Hours hike after Batad Village. With a phenomenal 70 meter fall in rainy season and naturally formed pool at its bottom suitable for a cooling swim (dress conservatively), Tappiya waterfall is a unique location in the area. (hike up down) Since we arrive after lunch, the time is limited for a relaxed hike and swimming.

Day 3 : Banaue – Sagada – Banaue
After Breakfast in the Hotel, we start the day with a 2.5 hours ride (one way) to picturesque SAGADA with its ancient burial caves and mummified bodies at Lumiang & Echo Valley.
After viewing these burial sights we can than enter and discover the impressive Sumaguing cave for 1,5 to 2 hours. It can be slippery at the entry.
